Celebrating Resiliency: Community Collaborative

Last month we had the pleasure of hosting the ENC Regional Church and Community Resiliency Collaborative for an exciting day of community and connection. We knew we were in for a full day, but we were blown away by the programs that were planned, the people who attended and the overall message of positivity that was evident in every corner.

Organized by Dawn Baldwin Gibson of Peletah Ministries, guests could attend a variety of workshops that were all resiliency focused:

  • Food Boxes, Housing Assistance, Health Screenings & Employment Opportunities
  • Moderna & Pfizer Vaccine and Booster + COVID Testing
  • Assistance for unmet needs resulting from Hurricane Florence
  • Presentations and/or roundtables from more than 30 community, regional, state and/or national resource partners

Special thank you to our event speakers, Mr. Marcus T. Coleman, Jr.; Director, Department of Homeland Security Center for Faith Based & Neighborhood Partnerships Office of the FEMA Administrator in Washington, DC and Mr. Reginald Speight, NC State Director, United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development in Raleigh, NC. What an honor to hear from such passionate advocates for our community. We are proud to be part of the first Resiliency Collaborative of this level and encourage this program to be incorporated into many other communities as they look to overcome a variety of different hardships.
