Amanda & Gerard – New Bern Riverfront Convention Center Wedding Preview
Who doesn’t love a shameless plug from an unsolicited source? We were looking on Google for all things New Bern Riverfront Convention Center and stumbled across this blog post from Bill Greene, a North Carolina photographer who captured some great pics of this super cute couple. What’s even better was the gracious amount of photos and video included in the post. We fell in love with this couple, their friends and family right away. You can just feel the love at this wedding. So… we reached out to Bill to get permission to share some of his images and after getting approval, added them to our gallery and his blog is included in our first official Convention Center web post. Y’all, how crazy is North Carolina’s weather? I cannot tell you how many weddings we have had so far this year that had a 100% chance of rain in the days leading up to the event just for the forecast to change for the better. We were so glad that the rain held out on Saturday for Amanda and Gerard’s big day! While the forecast may have forced this sweet couple to change their plans to an indoor ceremony and a first look location that kept them closer to shelter in the event a storm popped up, it was still the perfect day. We heard through the grapevine that Amanda and Gerard were the first couple to have their wedding in the newly renovated New Bern Riverfront Convention Center. Y’all, the ceremony space was perfect. The room was filled with windows and the most beautiful natural light. The ballroom was perfect for the reception.
And y’all, WHAT A RECEPTION it was. Gerard and Amanda had friends and family come from near and far to celebrate with them. A good portion of Gerard’s family even made the trip from Bolivia! As if the vibe wasn’t already festive enough, Frankie with BTA brought her A++++ game and kept this crowd on their feet and dancing the entire evening. Sometimes shooting weddings week after week, we feel like we have seen it all, but Frankie kept the the crowd having so much fun that I found myself laughing more than usual.
Amanda and Gerard, we cannot thank you guys enough for trusting us to capture your big day. We feel so blessed to have met you both and to witness your union. Amanda, thank you for being so laid-back and trusting us with our suggestions. You are a dream bride that kept her calm even when you were drizzled on and we all fretted the forecast. Gerard, we think you are amazing. We love your passion for surprises and keeping Amanda on her toes. It’s so easy to see how well you love on those that you love the most.
